The Start and End values are used to set the position of the Events onto the timeline axis. Each Event must have a Start value but End values are optional. If you can't create an Event within the time range of your choice the time units maybe wrong. Change the Properties of your timeline. How to entry Start & End values. Example · For a point in time just enter a date into the start box. · For a period of time enter a date into both start and end boxes. · For BC dates use minus number e.g -52 would give 52 BC · For AD dates just add number e.g 450 would be 450 · For fully calendar dates select the 'Calendar dates' category from Set tab, time units
A point in time will be display as a dot or icon (icon generated by Group). A period of time will be displayed as a bar (colour of bar generated by Group).
