The Parent/Child feature allows related Events to be embedded into a 'Parent' Event.
The feature is designed to allow a number of related events to be viewed as a 'whole' when a large time period is being displayed, but as this Event is viewed in more detail the individual 'Child' Events can be displayed.
The Child Events will be displayed by clicking onto the Parent Event.
The Parent Event is identified by the bar being cross hatched.  To create a Parent/Child relationship use the Edit Event box and check the 'Has parent' check box.
Using the drop down list select the 'Parent Event' that the Event you are currently editing will be embedded into.
The Event currently being edited will the 'Child' to the 'Parent' Event selected from the drop down list.
A Parent event is identified on the Timeline display by a cross hatched event bar.
Parent/child feature can be switched off from the 'View / Display Properties/Other' menu use the check box to switch feature on and off.
