  Timeline Display
   ·    Use 'show all' to display your Timeline
   ·    For large Timeline use search function to give controlled display.
   ·    Use ‘Update View’ to save changes made to all Views.
   ·    When creating additional View, re-define your Home View - use search tags.

Real Dates
The calendar date selection box automatically launches to a fixed date, requiring time scrolling.
Try clicking on the month or the year in the top blue date bar area of the date picker; you can select the correct month from the drop down list, the year can be scrolled up or down with the small grey arrow to the right of the year.

Options
Use to turn off or on the 'Hints bubbles' the 'Help Wizard' and whether time units are displayed.

Defaults
Set the visual characteristics of how an event will look on the Timeline without any customization.
Create a simple Timeline, adjust the default settings and then save those settings by using the 'set currently settings as default' control (Other tab / Defaults).

Groups
Grouping Events together is useful when customising the timeline layout.
The visual characteristics of a number of Events can be linked together with colour and font style.
The align Group feature allows the entire group to be position as one unit.
Build ‘Groups’ up as part of first stage data entry and add Events to Group as they are created.

Parent/Child
The parent/child feature allow related Events to be embedded into a Parent Event.
These embedded Events are display by clicking on the Parent Event.
To create a Parent/child relationship use the 'Edit Event' and select the parent from the drop down list.

Importing Timelines
   ·    Open existing timeline, or create a New timeline, set Time units (Setup tab) to suit the data
   ·    From Export / Import tab select  ‘import timeline’
   ·    Select the Timeline you want to be merged into original.
Note - Always merge Timeline of the same time units. If Timeline files with different time units are merged together the units of the 'Imported' Timeline will be converted to that of the master Timeline.
There is no data checking during merging, so check that there are no identical events or identical groups.

Blowaway
Handy to clean up the timeline display without a re-search before the timeline image is copied or printed.
Events can be returned to the display from ‘Restore events’ list.
